Budget airlines have put the price for a baby to travel up by a third in a year and in some instances a baby in arms is being charged a more than a adult even though they don’t get a seat.

Research by Travelsupermarket.com have shown that in 2011 prices for a infant have gone up from £15 to £20 and Ryanair is currently offering adult prices of £9.99 and a child price of £20 each way.

Fuel prices are soaring again with Scottish Power announcing a 19% increase on Gas and 10% on electric which will add nearly £200 to the bills.

The move is sure to be followed by rivals and this adds to the reports that food is rising at a fast rate as well.

A study by the Institute of Fiscal Studies today reveals many of the country’s poorest pensioners already face a nightmare choice between heating and eating.
